After graduating from Bolton High School, I attended the University of Memphis where I decided to major in Fashion Merchandising. After realizing that success in fashion means moving out of Memphis and away from my family, I changed my major to Family and Consumer Studies and fell in love with the content. I graduated from Memphis in 2005 with a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Family and Consumer Studies with a minor in English with honors. (summa cum laude) After graduating, I began to work on my Master of Arts in Teaching at Memphis in secondary education. I was hired at Arlington High School in 2005 and then earned my M.A.T. in 2007.
I am extremely passionate about my career and believe 100% in the importance of Family and Consumer Sciences education in today’s world.
I am married to a wonderful and intelligent man who teaches criminal justice at Houston High School and I have a baby girl, Olivia Kate that was born in 2012 and a baby boy, Reece that was born in 2016.
